Cameron Crosse, ASU Pre-Health Internship Program intern

Course of Study:

Cardiology

Internship site:

East Valley Cardiology

Has the internship stimulated your interest in the field?
The internship has stimulated my interest in the field of medicine. It has confirmed my aspirations of going to medical school and one day becoming a physician, specifically a cardiologist or psychiatrist.

What key skills do you feel you have developed and gained from the internship? What have you learned from participating in the program?
The core features that I learned during my time there were the inner workings of running a clinic, being able to observe the medical personnel and doctors practicing there, garnering clinical experience on how to apply knowledge of my undergraduate study, and being able to explore why I felt connected with this field of study.

What suggestions would you give to students who want to participate in PHIP?                                    Keeping your mind open to anything the internship has to offer you. It may not be what you previously expected it to be, but that does not mean it doesn’t have anything to offer. Make the most of your experience and time as there is always something new to learn.

What are your plans for career development and/or your education after your internship?
I plan to attend medical school and to become a physician, specifically a cardiologist or psychiatrist. I plan to scope out my interests in medical school and see what career best fits me.
